Frequently Asked Questions

Marble forms when limestone or dolostone both sedimentary rocks made mostly of calcite or dolomite are exposed to intense heat and pressure deep underground. This process, called metamorphism, changes the rock’s structure and appearance.

As the heat and pressure build, the original minerals in the rock recrystallize into larger, tightly packed crystals. That’s what gives marble its smooth texture, natural veining, and elegant, polished look. The unique colors and patterns you see in marble come from other minerals and impurities that were present in the original stone. Each piece of marble is truly one of a kind.

The entire process from selecting your countertop to final installation usually takes about two to two and a half weeks. We typically schedule your countertop installation around 10 business days after we complete the template.

Getting ready for your countertop installation is simple with just a few easy steps:

  • Clear out your sink base cabinet completely our team will need access through the upper drawers, which we’ll remove during installation. To keep dust and debris out, you may also want to empty nearby base cabinets or lower drawers.

  • Make sure there’s a clear path to the installation area. Please remove any obstacles, construction materials, or even snow and ice so we can safely carry in the stone. Remember, these pieces can weigh several hundred pounds, so safety is key.

To keep your natural stone tile looking great for years, regular care is key:

  • Seal your stone before and after grouting, and reapply sealer 2–3 times a year depending on usage. Always test the sealer on a small area first to ensure compatibility.

  • Use mild, pH-balanced cleaners specifically made for natural stone. Avoid harsh chemicals, acidic cleaners, bleach, or vinegar—they can damage the surface.

  • Clean with warm water and a soft microfiber cloth. Skip the scrubbing pads, as they can scratch the surface.

  • Regular cleaning helps prevent dirt buildup and keeps your stone tile looking polished and protected.
